Zinc stearate is a white, hydrophobic powder that belongs to the family of metallic soaps and is obtained by the reaction of fatty acids with zinc metal. This material is used as an internal lubricant in molding powders and as a mold lubricant, etc. The most important applications of zinc stearate include external lubricant in the plastic and polymer industries, matting agent for various types of plastics and polymers, dispersing, releasing and spreading agent for colors in various masterbatches, and sanding agent. This material is also used as a lubricant to improve the texture of cosmetic products and has antiseptic, topical and astringent properties.
